Spaces We Love - Lake Wenatchee House
While in our current "Heat wave" we thought it would be nice to feature a cool space. This retreat located on Lake Wenatchee, Washington is full of custom details that are not only unique but very functional. DeForest Architects and Theresa Benny Interior Design teamed up to create this modern yet comfortable cabin.
The living room above doubles as a sleeping porch - the coves to the right are seating by day and sleeping nooks at night. The privacy created by having individual nooks is brilliant.
Simple furnishings and limited accessories emphasize the dramatic view in the bedroom above. The neutral color pallet and clean window design frame Lake Wenatchee perfectly.
The lighting plan for this dining room is genius - the ceiling fan is centered between the poles for the dropped track lighting and the pendants hanging below bring a sense of intimacy to the dining table in an otherwise cavernous space. We also have some serious love for the live-edge dining table.
The bookcase above doubles as a door to a hidden media room - although we're not sure that this room gets much use when the view outside is so spectacular.
Heavy use of glass and wood on the interior creates a strong connection to the surrounding forest. To see more beautiful interiors from Theresa Benny Interior Design, visit her website here: theresabennyinteriordesign.com
The colors selected for the exterior of the home blend perfectly into its surroundings. Although the cabin is modern, careful planning makes it appear right at home amongst the forest.
