When Dr. Martens began planning the remodel of their U.S. Headquarters in Portland, they wanted a statement piece that would invigorate their workforce while reflecting the iconic brand’s image. The result we created in collaboration with Trade Interior Designs was a custom sit-to-stand desk for 140 work stations, featuring bases from Fully, a fellow Portland B Corp. The desktops were stained black and included a custom metal back panel to allow privacy as well as the use of magnets to customize each workspace. We selected Red Oak for the desktops, which allowed the beautiful grain to show through.
